Don't Do Drugs Kids! 💊

no seriously, don't

📰 EXTRA, EXTRA - READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Again, don’t do drugs kids!!

Imagine waking up to a text from the police along the lines of “Oh Hey there, we’re the police and we know you’ve been buying illegal drugs - seek help!“. Well I’m paraphrasing of course but this actually did happen - After the Irish Police conducted a series of raids where among the recovered items were phones belonging to the dealers. They were able to extract the phone numbers stored on each device and filter out nearly 2,000 suspected buyers who received the texts.

The text actually read:

"This is a message from the Police Service of Northern Ireland. We have identified that this number appears in a WhatsApp group used to buy and sell controlled drugs. We appreciate that people borrow phones and this message may not apply to you. It is a criminal offence to possess or sell controlled drugs. If you do need support please visit www.drugsandalcoholni.info. If you are being exploited, call the police on 101 or 999 in an emergency. If you have information regarding drug supply you wish to provide you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111 or email [email protected]."

Police Service of Northern Ireland

The force is exploring new wholistic ways to tackle the growing drug problem in the country as Detective Superintendent Emma Neill told BBC News: "It is important that we not only arrest and search and seize these drugs that are openly available but also take a public health approach and support those who are affected by drug misuse, often the most vulnerable in our society."

Microsoft Now Owns Activision Blizzard

THIS IS NOT A DRILL - Microsoft just completed their acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This means they now own Activision Blizzard's iconic titles such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, Warcraft, and Diablo!

The deal cost a whopping $68.7 Billion (with a capital ‘B’), making it Microsoft's largest-ever acquisition - eclipsing LinkedIn and Bethesda. To make sure the transition goes as smooth as butter, Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, will be staying on board until the end of 2023.

UK regulator Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) confirmed their concerns had now been addressed after originally moving to block the sale resulting in the nearly 2-year battle.

This condition was met with the sale (well I’d like to think of it like more of a lease, but what do I know? 🤷🏼‍♂️) of Activision's cloud streaming rights to Ubisoft, essentially to stop Microsoft from “having a stranglehold over the market”.

Ubisoft will hold the rights for 15 years for markets outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and once that period elapses, Ubisoft will no longer hold the cloud streaming rights. According to the CMA, the idea behind this is to allow time for rival cloud gaming providers to become established, allowing for healthy competition.

There are plans to include the games in the Xbox Game Pass program so at some point in the future, you should be able to play these games as long as you’re a paying subscriber.

Ladies, quick question…..

Remember, Cheesecake Factory bae from Tiktok? The one who absolutely refused to leave the car when she and her date arrived at the restaurant?

@moniquelsantos09

#fyp #foryoupage #dating #relationship #datinglife #datingover30 #blackrelationships

It turns out that sparked a massive debate about what counts as an acceptable first-date location. An ‘anonymous‘ user took to their Facebook account to share a list of 28 “places women absolutely refuse to go on a first date” and it caused quite a stir.

Ladies do you agree with this list and would you add or take out anything else on it?

Queue

Do you keep track of shows you watch in the Notes app? - FIX UP!

I’m praying for you, and because I love you, I’m gonna put you on!

My good friend introduced me to Queue just last week! It's an excellent tool for organizing and managing the movies and TV shows you're watching. With Queue, you can easily check off each episode and receive timely push notifications for new releases. What's more, you can connect with your friends, enabling you to explore their viewing choices when you’re on the hunt for new shows to watch. Additionally, the platform allows you to rate and review content, providing insights from others to help you decide if a new show is worth your time and investment.

Oh also, you can copy your list from Notes and paste it into the app and it will automatically add it to your…Queue - clever right?

You can check it out HERE

If you do, give me a follow at @YemiDavis to see what I’m watching!
